The inaugural Roxburgh Reivers Club Night took place on Monday evening at The Barns Community Centre. There were 16 participants and an enjoyable couple of hours passed quickly.
Ian laid on some training, Robin laid on some discussion of Saturday’s event and Rob laid on some tea, juice and biscuits.
Ian’s technique training exercise gave the opportunity to practise map orientation and thumbing skills while also giving some folk the opportunity to get a little more out of puff than they normally might do on a Monday evening.
Robin also led a discussion of route choices of the courses at Elibank on Saturday, making very good use of his impressive digital projector to project the map and courses onto the wall of the centre.
Members were kept refreshed with good supplies of tea, juice and biscuits. Rob’s flapjacks weren’t quite up to Caroline Tullie standard but the tin was nearly empty by the end of the evening and Lindsey’s large box of chocolates were completely devoured!
I hope all those who came along enjoyed their evening. Any feedback and suggestions for activities for further club evenings will be gratefully received.
