A handful of Reivers travelled over the border to Ray Demesne in Northumberland for the colour-coded event there.  We were last there a couple of years ago for the
Northern Championships – this time the planner chose to all but ignore the wooded areas and concentrate largely on the moorland sections.  Runnability was varied with some challenging heather to negotiate in areas, so finding freshly burnt areas and young short heather on your chosen route was a real bonus !

John Tullie overcame all the younger opposition and won a competitive  Brown course with Barry Veitch just six minutes behind in 7th place.   I was pleased to finish
3rd on the Blue course with Douglas Henderson just 3 minutes behind in 6th place.
