The club championships produced another 1-2-3 for the Maxwell family (if we exclude JT running n/c) but this time it was Eileen who crossed the line first, despite collecting one more control than she needed to. Continue reading

Upcoming club events
As a result of the snow we’re unable to get the new map of Lanton Woods completed in time, therefore the venue for our SoSOL on 21/3/10 has been changed to Elibank, near Walkerburn.
Our CATI on 27/2/2010, which was going to be at Elibank, has now moved venue to Bowmont Forest, near Kelso.
More details on both events via the links to the right of this page.

South of Scotland O League – at Elibank
Event information
What: | South of Scotland Orienteering League
Where: | Elibank Forest, Walkerburn (NT402361)
When: | Sunday 21 March 2010
Getting there: | Signposted from A72 in Walkerburn. Entry to the forest is at the south-eastern end of the map and going via Walkerburn you will drive through the competition area. Please drive carefully as all courses except White and Yellow will cross this road. Driving through Selkirk or Galashiels you can also access via Peel, which is quite scenic, and you won’t drive through the competition area. Both roads are quite narrow with passing places.
|
||||||||||||||||||||||||
Parking | Parking is on forest roads with a wide verge. Anyone bringing a minibus should contact the Organiser in advance please. It would be helpful if competitors could arrive before 12:30 and not leave until after 12:30 as the forest road is quite narrow in places.
Terrain | The snow has flattened a lot of the undergrowth and it’s generally fast running (when you’re not going steeply uphill). There are several areas of complex contours to keep you on your toes, plus some very pleasant terrain alongside the River Tweed for courses Orange-Brown.
Start time: | Starts from 11:00 to 1:00 (registration opens at 10:30)
Entry fees: | Seniors: £8 (£2 discount for Senior BOF members proof of membership required) Juniors and students: £2:50. Familes/Groups on White or Yellow: £5. |
