Planning a significant urban event in my own home town was daunting but something that I had very much wanted to do for some time. There’s the desire to make sure all the tricky little corners are included but in an event such as this I wanted to ensure that icons of Kelso like the Square, the Tweed and the Abbey all featured on the longer courses. My goal was also to ensure that every senior competitor would have choices to make throughout their course.

Race the Abbeys update
We’ll be pleased to offer any WRE Elite Sprint runner a non-competitive run on one of the urban courses at a fixed cost of £5 per run payable on the day of the event. You need to enter the urban course you want on a separate entry form, request an Open Start for convenience and key in a discount code which you can obtain by first emailing Lindsey (abbeys2023@roxburghreivers.org.uk).
