Special half-price membership offer

As part of the support to restart our sport, the SOA Board of Directors last week approved that those joining or renewing their SOA membership as of the 1st May will do so at half price. We hope this will provide some incentive for new families and individuals to join, especially those that have recently started orienteering or those who have sampled it through MapRun activities. The price of adult membership will be £5 and Juniors £1 from 1st May (their membership will run until 31st December 2021). Add Roxburgh Reivers club fee of £1 and 50p to these figures making a very modest total of £6 and £1.50 respectively for 8 months membership. Join online via the following link.

Club Championships 2021 – Lanton

The results from todays Club Championships at Lanton are HERE

There were 2 Championship categories today – Young Junior and Open. Well done to Seb Darlow and Cathy Rooney for their respective wins. The results show everyone’s handicap after their name. There was also a 60 minute Score which a few folk took advantage of.

Thanks also to Ian and Eileen Maxwell for organising/planning etc.

Upcoming events

We are planning 5 events over the next few weeks but for the moment these are restricted to club members only. This isn’t ideal but is the current agreement between Scottish Orienteering and SportScotland which allows us to have any orienteering events. Members will be emailed details of all the events. All events are strictly pre-entry, do not turn up on the day without having submitted an entry form.

We hope to welcome back non-members before too long. Remember that there are permanent courses and MapRun courses for you to enjoy meantime.

MapRun courses

Whilst we can’t get together for any organised orienteering remember that there are still virtual MapRun courses available. These are open to everyone, not just club members, see the information under the MapRun and Permanent Courses tab above.

Selkirk Hill MapRun courses

The 2 Selkirk Hill MapRun courses used on Boxing Day are now available for everyone. In the MapRunF App download either the Selkirk Hill Score or Selkirk Hill Scatter plus the corresponding map below, although they’re the same controls so either map would suffice. If the “Events Near Me” link in MapRunF doesn’t work use “Select Event” and then UK – Scotland – Borders – Roxburgh Reivers….
