Thank you for supporting RR latest Spring Sprint event at Selkirk Hill. It was great to see another fine turn-out. I hope you enjoyed your run despite the Baltic temperatures. Most folk seemed to finish with a smile on their face and I thank you for your generous and positive comments the end of your runs. Thanks also to those who offered to collect in controls. As usual it was a RR team effort with Lindsey at the helm organising the technical bits, Pauline ensuring the Covid-19 risk assessment was completed and Robin helping to collect in controls at the end.
The idea of the ‘gaffled’ controls was to try break up any precession of runners . Not sure how well this worked but it added interest to the start. Hope to see you at Gala Hill next week.

The club can’t accept non-members or beginners at races at the moment due to Covid rules but everyone can still take part in “Virtual” orienteeering if they have a smartphone. See the heading above about MapRun and Permanent Courses.

As part of the support to restart our sport, the SOA Board of Directors last week approved that those joining or renewing their SOA membership as of the 1st May will do so at half price. We hope this will provide some incentive for new families and individuals to join, especially those that have recently started orienteering or those who have sampled it through MapRun activities. The price of adult membership will be £5 and Juniors £1 from 1st May (their membership will run until 31st December 2021). Add Roxburgh Reivers club fee of £1 and 50p to these figures making a very modest total of £6 and £1.50 respectively for 8 months membership. Join online via the following link.
The results from todays Club Championships at Lanton are HERE
There were 2 Championship categories today – Young Junior and Open. Well done to Seb Darlow and Cathy Rooney for their respective wins. The results show everyone’s handicap after their name. There was also a 60 minute Score which a few folk took advantage of.
