Junior Home Internationals and JIRCs

Superb performances by Kirstin and Karen helped Scotland to retain the trophy for the individual day of the JHI Championships at Newborough on Anglesey recently.

Kirstin finished 3rd in W18 and Karen 4th in W14, allowing the Scots to finish level with England and keep the trophy they won last year. Unfortunately, depite the girls combining with Katrina Mcleod from GRAMP to take the bronze medal in the girls’ relays on Day 2, the English were too strong, winning the relay trophy and the competition overall.

Karen was back on the road again the following weekend, travelling to Belfast to represent Scotland in the JIRCs. This time the Scots team did even better, winning the individual day and preforming well enough in the relay competition on the Sunday to win outright – the first win in 10 years. Well done to both Karen and Kirstin.
