a) Disclaimer – Safety: Competitors take part at their own risk & are responsible for their own safety at all times. Parts of the area are open hillside – please come prepared for all types of weather. In the case of poor weather, waterproof hooded jackets may be made compulsory (worn or carried) .

b) Pre-entries are now closed. We have printed a limited supply of surplus maps for each course for EOD. If you want to guarantee the course of your choice please email the organiser before Sat 25th to reserve a map – johntullie@btconnect.com

c) Individual Start Times shall NOT be allocated – please proceed to the Start and start when instructed by the marshals. There may be short queues if everyone arrives at the same time! The start is in a reasonably sheltered location.

d) there WILL be a string course.

e) there is an 800m walk back from the Finish to Download which will be taped & signed. 150m of this involves walking along the side of a quiet public road – parents of young children please be aware.

f) Please be aware of other outdoor enthusiasts who use this area extensively – normal (!) walkers, dog walkers, cyclists & horse riders – and please treat them all with respect.

g) Competitors on White and Yellow must collect their maps at registration before going to the Start

h) Remember that clocks go forward on Saturday night.

On the dramatic, historical and mysterious Eildon Hills with spectacular views of the surrounding Borders countryside.  More facts and fairytales  HERE

Directions – Turn off the A6091 (Melrose bypass) just east of Melrose signposted Crematorium and Rhymers Stone at GR NT/553339. Continue for approx. 1.5km to parking and registration. Parking will be linear on the side of the tar road (formerly the main road from Newtown St. Boswells to Melrose). On the way pass the Borders Crematorium – post code TD6 9HA for those wanting to use satnav. Please drive carefully on this road, particularly once past the gates, as it is normally closed to traffic and is extensively used by walkers and cyclists.  It’s 5km from Tweedbank railway station so cycling to the event is possible (cycle spaces on board are on a first come basis).

Registration – just beyond the parking – open from 10.00 – 12.00 ( starts from 10.30 – 12.30).

Pre-entries can proceed directly to the Start.  Other entries will need to complete an entry form and it would be easier if you completed one in the comfort of your own home. Print one off HERE

Entries – pre-entry closed now on O Entries  EOD as long as maps last !
