The Club is holding a short series of night orienteering events in terrain, and as we are aware that many won’t have tried this format, we are making the courses easy and the venues used are familiar and safe.

Terrain Mostly mature runnable woodland with a good path network. There are two lochs, so please take care around these.
One course on offer at about Orange standard
starts 6 – 6.30pm.
Course Closure time.
Best to start early, as we are going to have a course closure time of 7.30, as there will be a Mountain Rescue Team training session following on immediately after the Bowhill event.
Entry fees £10 for Series, £4 per night.
Compared to day events, night events present a greater risk of exposure, Competitors are advised that they should carry additional protection – consider hat, warmer clothing or cagoule and a whistle. A watch and compass are essential. Juniors under 16 may take part, but must be accompanied by an adult.
Timing will be by SI cards as usual.
Head torches provide hands-free illumination but pleases check your batteries are good enough to last the evening and it’s advisable to carry a spare torch as backup.
