Final Information ***   HERE     ***

SOL 1 for 2016 will be at Elibank, near Walkerburn in the Tweed Valley, on Sunday 6 March 2016 on an extended and updated map (by Stirling Surveys).  The forest is embargoed for anyone wishing to run competitively in the SOL.

Assembly/Parking:    Indoors Assembly/Registration/Toilets etc will be at Walkerburn Rugby Club with a 10 minute each-way minibus shuttle to and from the nearby forest.  Distance from minibus drop-off to the Start is 900m with 95m of ascent. Walking time for this is about 15 minutes.  Parking is in various small areas of hardstanding within about 5 minutes walk of the rugby club.

Getting to Walkerburn:  The X62 bus goes between Edinburgh and Melrose approximately every hour on Sundays.  It’s a 3 minute walk from the Walkerburn bus stop to Assembly.  Or you could use the Borders Railway to/from Galashiels from where it’s only 22 minutes on the bus to Walkerburn. Trains arrive in Galashiels at 4 minutes past the hour, the bus leaves at 18 minutes past the hour.

Last-minute contact:   With the weather in early March being unpredictable we may have to issue late instructions and we’re aware that many people don’t have internet access after leaving home.  We’ve therefore set up a text messaging system which we will only use for vital changes from the Saturday morning onwards.  If you wish to be included please text the word MAP to 51772.  You won’t get a confirmation (because it costs us) but you can be confident that we’ll have your message. It’ll cost you one standard text message.

Entries:  Entries via Oentries.  Normal pre-entries have now closed but Oentries has been reopened for the remaining maps – see Oentries for details.  Start times will be from 10:45am – 1:15pm.
